John Lawrence is currently a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and serves as the dental department head aboard the USS Harpers Ferry, which is stationed in Pearl Harbor. He will be joining our practice in July, and we could not be more excited to welcome Dr. JL and his wife Katie back home. Their daughter, Abbie, has recently moved back to Greenville with her rescue dog, Georgie. Abbie runs her own small business, and also works for the Boosterthon organization.

Dr. Holliday continuously strives to provide his patients the most advanced and comprehensive dental treatment available.

John Lawrence Holliday, D.M.D.

Dr John HollidayDr. J.L recently joined his father, Dr. "Happy" Holliday, in the practice in July after practicing dentistry in the Navy for the last six years. Dr. J.L. graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2014, and shipped off to the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton in San Diego, CA for a General Practice Residency where he trained in the hospital dentistry and oral surgery for one year. After that he served for two years as the dental officer aboard a naval ship, the USS HARPERS FERRY, on which he deployed to the Persian Gulf for seven months. Dr. J.L. was responsible for providing dental services to about 800 Sailors and Marines while deployed. Finally he was stationed at the Naval Health Clinic Hawaii in Pearl Harbor, HI, where he served as a general dentist for three years. Dr. J.L. recently married the love of his life, Katie, and they enjoyed six months together in Hawaii as J.L. finished up his time with the Navy. They are excited to be back in Greenville close to friends and family, and they look forward to starting a family of their own together.

Dr. J.L. loves to be outside, whether it's surfing, hiking, camping, or going for a run. He also enjoys reading good books, traveling, and learning new things about dentistry. He and Katie both have a passion for international missions and helping those who are poor and hurting. Dr. J.L. has been on 13 dental mission trips, and hopes to stay heavily involved with mission for the rest of his life. He has particular heart for the African nation of Burundi, where there are only about 10 dentists for roughly 11 million people. Dr. J.L. and Katie attend Grace Church downtown, and have been heavily impacted by their faith. They have both been accepted to Dallas Theological Seminary to start a master degree program in Cross Cultural Ministry in spring of 2021.
